Review Browser Storage

The publication's own static scripts do not set cookies, run analytics or save bench notes in persistent browser storage.

What cookies are

Cookies are small values a website can ask your browser to retain and send with later requests. Browser storage such as localStorage is a separate mechanism that can retain values on your device. Both can be used for preferences or tracking, depending on how a site is implemented.

The publication's code

The supplied page functionality uses JavaScript for the mobile menu, scroll reveals and the local bench-note tool. These functions do not require cookies or localStorage. Menu state and the prepared message are held only in the current page. There are no advertising scripts, analytics libraries, embedded social widgets or third-party font requests in the publication's code.

Ordinary browser caching may retain HTML, styles, scripts and images to make repeat visits faster. Your browser may also offer form restoration or autofill independently of the site's scripts. These behaviours are controlled through your browser settings.

Clipboard and downloads

The contact tool accesses the clipboard only when you choose “Copy”, subject to browser permission and availability. It does not read clipboard contents. Choosing “Download .txt” creates a file containing your prepared text. That file is not a cookie and is not automatically removed when you clear website data.

Your browser controls

You can inspect and remove cookies and site storage through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. You can also block cookies, disable JavaScript, clear cached files and revoke clipboard permissions. The articles remain readable without JavaScript, but the message-building, copying and downloading controls require it.

Deleting site data does not delete files you downloaded, messages you emailed or text already copied to the clipboard. Manage those separately using your device and application controls.

External websites and delivery services

External reference links open a different website only when you follow them. That site's cookies and storage practices are governed by its own notice. Hosting delivery or any separately provided consent interface may have additional behaviour described by that service or interface; it is separate from the static publication functions described here.
